Welcome to our September Retired Set competition. WOW what a set. We have done this set once before and I think this might just be the last time we do this 1. Since we did it last we have picked up a few more followers so want to give them the chance to have a go at winning this one. LEGO MARVEL 76042 The Shield Helicarrier. This set released in March 2015 and retired in November 2017. The set has 2996 pieces… I can’t believe LEGO didn’t add 5 more pieces so they could say it was a 3000 piece plus set. When built it is a very impressive 80cm long and 45cm wide. Definitely a statement piece that will be a joy to build and admire. There are 5 minifigures including Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Maria Hill. The box is in pretty good condition considering it retired 8 years ago. Please see the many photos I have uploaded. This is classed as an 16+ build and generally command a price on eBay now of £425+.
The one thing to say about this set is that when I got it, it was brand new in the box. I could however hear that one of the bags had burst in the box as pieces were rattling around. I opened the box bagged up all the loose bits and sealed the box back up. Just wanted to let you know. I’m hoping the first thing you will do anyway is open it and build it.
